Deni Tomat

Chartered Accountant
Deni Tomat’s number one accounting tip for businesses is to try and keep up to date with their finances.
When you fall behind it’s so much harder to catch up and this impacts on managing your business. With the cloud software we have now this is much easier. Plus you can check in on your business’s wellbeing at any time and deal with issues there and then, and not have to wait until your end of year tax is done.
Deni started her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2016 at the University of Wollongong, graduating as a Dean Scholar with majors in accounting and business law. She is also a chartered accountant at Kothes Accounting Group.
A people person
Deni grew up on the Sapphire Coast and worked in hospitality in the Bega Valley, Perisher and Canada. When she returned home she wanted a change from hospitality and chose accounting because it would give her a good foundation of business knowledge.
She also saw accounting as a profession where she could help people.
I’m a real people person and one of the things I love about accounting is that I’m helping people all the time. When you run a business it’s not your job to know absolutely everything and it’s nice to know people can call me to help navigate the business world.
Small business support
“On the Far South Coast small businesses are everything, and a little bit of help and knowledge makes the world of difference. People get very stressed about money, so I enjoy being able to be an empathetic ear to try and help.”
Deni also recommends people don’t bury their heads in the sand when it comes to their accounting and finance.
Your accountant is here to help you sort things out, no matter how difficult it might feel to you, we are here to provide that support and professional advice and we will do everything we can to help you find a way forward that is best for you and your business.
